Original painting recipes, materials and builder choices
Construction and optional painting
Eclipse includes its display base, beam rifles, beam shields and beam-saber parts, plus Tatsumi Hori figures with six pilot color recipes. The model is made from PS runners and uses supplied stickers for markings. Water-based paint is recommended for the seven mobile-suit recipes and the optional figure finish.
Follow the transformation sequence when changing between mobile-suit and mobile-armor forms. Included adapter joints support the illustrated Aile, Sword and Launcher Striker, Force Silhouette and Gunner Wizard combinations, but those packs come from separately sold kits. The base supplied with Eclipse can support its own display.
Materials in the parts list: PS: all listed A1/A2, B1/B2, C, D1/D2, E1/E2, F1/F2, G, I, J and BA13 display-base runners.
In the original color chart, English Red madder is paired with Japanese モンザレッド (Monza Red). Both printed names are retained; this does not establish a modern numerical paint code or a tested substitute.
For optional panel lining, the original suggests a separately sold Gundam Marker or similar. It prescribes no marker color or numerical product code.
The original recommends water-based paint and gives named ingredients without numerical H/C product codes. The water-based AK 3GEN store products below are optional approximate candidates, not manufacturer-specified paints or physically verified matches.

13 printed roles use 15 distinct named ingredients. 9 roles contain mixtures; 0 use separate paint layers. Original proportions describe the source paints. Ratios for these substitute pigments are unvalidated starting points: test and adjust a small dried sample. Unquantified additions remain unquantified. Keep undercoats and topcoats separate and let each layer dry.

Named ingredients and optional store candidates
11 mapped purchase cards and 4 disabled ingredient references cover all 15 named ingredients. Mapped cards represent 11 unique paint variants. Source-role counts are not purchase quantities. Each selected variant is added once, even if chosen for more than one source ingredient.
- White. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic White AK11001. White is a named opaque water-based candidate. Exact source formulation and dried appearance are untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Gray. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Neutral Grey AK11018. Neutral Grey is a generic gray approximation; it does not define the distinct named Neutral Gray source as an identical formulation. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Cobalt Blue. AK11201 Cobalt Blue is explicitly in the metallic range. The source ordinary Cobalt Blue does not establish a metallic effect, so that candidate is rejected.
- Clear Blue. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Clear Blue AK11214. Clear Blue is a named transparent water-based candidate. Exact source formulation and dried appearance are untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: transparent.
- Black. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Black AK11029. Black is a named opaque water-based candidate. Exact source formulation and dried appearance are untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Red Madder. The source gives a named Red Madder ingredient without a numeric product code; some originals pair the English with Japanese Monza Red. No matching formulation is established.
- Red. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Matt Red AK11092. Matt Red supplies an opaque red candidate; matte describes the candidate, not a proven source finish. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Yellow. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Yellow AK11044. Yellow is a named opaque water-based candidate. Exact source formulation and dried appearance are untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Cream Yellow. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Pastel Yellow AK11037. Pastel Yellow provides a pale cream-yellow candidate. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Field Gray[1]. No independently supported candidate resolves the source’s numbered Field Gray[1] hue. Generic field gray products are not treated as the same specification.
- Metallic Green. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Metallic Green AK11205. Metallic Green is a named metallic water-based candidate. Exact source formulation and dried appearance are untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: metallic.
- Gold. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Gold AK11191. Gold is a named metallic water-based candidate. Exact source formulation and dried appearance are untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: metallic.
- Orange. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Medium Orange AK11078. Orange is a named opaque water-based candidate. Exact source formulation and dried appearance are untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Middle Stone. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Middle Stone AK11124. Same descriptive Middle Stone name supports an approximate candidate; exact source formulation is unknown. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Smoke Gray. AK11215 Clear Smoke preserves transparency but its manufacturer and catalog sample is brown/sepia. That does not support the source Smoke Gray; opaque gray is also unsuitable.
Optional supplies are recommendations for the tasks described above, not manufacturer-required purchases. The AK 3GEN thinner applies only to the AK 3GEN candidates. Do not paint materials the original warns against painting. Digital color squares are browsing aids; they do not prove dried color, pigment strength, sheen, metallic reflection, transparency or a successful mixture.
