The Corsair’s inverted-gull wing and large radial engine made it one of the Pacific War’s most recognizable fighters. It developed from an initially demanding carrier aircraft into a widely used fighter and fighter-bomber.
Vought and Goodyear production identities should remain distinct: the kit offers a Vought F4U-1D and a Goodyear FG-1D. Both manufacturer depictions use an overall blue finish, with different carrier and squadron markings.
