These store paints are approximate alternatives to the Revell codes in the instructions; colour, finish and metallic effect may differ. All alternatives and supplies start unchecked. Ratios below are original Revell formulas, not tested recipes for these substitute paints. Do not mix different paint brands or chemistries. Paint-plus-varnish options mean a separate coat over fully cured paint, not varnish mixed into paint. Test the complete paint and decal finish first. Tamiya X/XF options are alcohol-based acrylics; the other listed colour options are water-based acrylics. Use the thinner specified for each paint range. The full 1981 Camaro palette includes Revell mixture J = 7 (25%) + 1 Clear Gloss (75%), and mixture K = 7 (25%) + 90 (75%). Keep these manufacturer ratios with the original Revell paints. Follow the overlapping decal order on page 8. Its mirror insert 25 is cut out and attached with white glue; do not soak that insert in water.
