The Tomcat began as a carrier-based fleet-defense fighter with variable-sweep wings. Over its service life, reconnaissance equipment and precision-strike capability expanded its missions.
The Navy withdrew the Tomcat from service in 2006. This kit spans several years of F-14D operation, including a colorful VF-213 aircraft from its final deployment period and earlier tactical-gray squadron examples.
