Marking choices

  • First scheme: P-47D-20RE, 361FS, 356FG, 8th Air Force. It uses paint keys A–H in the H-series family. The store cards offer the printed Mr. Color alternatives and start unchecked.
  • Second scheme: P-47D flown by William D. Dunham, Southwest Pacific, 1943. It uses B, C, D, E, F and G. Red-and-white rudder stripes are decals; black wing and fuselage bands use B.

Assembly and materials

  • The two assembly steps add no paint callouts or paint mixtures. The bracketed A, B and C labels identify tank subassemblies.
  • The instrument panel uses decal 21. The canopy is a clear part; neither adds a separate paint requirement.
  • The general symbol key includes cyanoacrylate glue and weight, but neither is specifically called out in the two assembly steps. No ballast quantity, primer or clear coat is specified.
  • For decals the source specifies warm water at 40°C for 10 seconds, a clean cloth, and a soft cloth for gently pressing out moisture and bubbles.
