Marking and configuration choices

First scheme: White 97, BuNo 48102, VT-2, USS Hornet CV-12, summer 1944. The default configuration has folded wings and no optional stores. The default paint family is Mr. Color; the H94 Clear Green role has no printed Mr. Color code and its Tamiya choice remains unchecked.
Second scheme: C-5, VC-30, USS Monterey CVL-26, 1943. The same exterior palette applies with different decals.
Extended and folded wings are alternatives. Insignia Red H327 / Mr. Color 327 applies only to the indicated underside detail in extended-wing step 37 and starts unchecked.
Bombs, torpedo, rockets and fuel tanks are configuration choices. Olive Drab E and Gold F are optional stores colors and start unchecked.

Printed paint details

The original table lists Mr. Color 365 Navy Blue and 366 Intermediate Blue. The store names use Gloss Sea Blue FS15042 and Flat Intermediate Blue FS35164; the original codes and names remain visible.
The Gold row prints Tamiya XF12, and the Silver row prints Tamiya XF11. These literal source values are retained; the guide does not correct them or use them for those roles.
The White row prints Vallejo 991. All printed cross-references are retained for reference, with no claim of exact equivalence.
Assembly Interior Green is H74 / Mr. Color 27 as printed. It remains distinct from Field Green H340 / Mr. Color 340.
There are no paint mixtures in the reviewed original. H7 + H12 and H21 + H24 label H-sprue part joins.

Materials and assembly

The kit includes clear parts, photo-etched parts, decals and masks. Use suitable CA adhesive for photo-etched parts; polystyrene cement serves the styrene parts.
The shared photo-etched/mask sheet in the original is labeled 87274. It is shown inside the exact 87275 instructions.
For decals the source specifies warm water at 40°C for 10 seconds, a clean cloth and a soft cloth. Decal solution is an optional store recommendation.
The bay doors can be open or closed; follow steps 20 and 23 for that choice.
Masks, instrument decals and unpainted linework do not add paint colors. Thinner purchases apply only to the named store paint family.
