The instructions specify Italeri paints, with any named Tamiya sprays shown separately. Store alternatives are provisional digital-color or manufacturer-chart comparisons, not exact equivalents. Color, sheen and metallic reflection can differ. All alternatives, finishing coats and supplies start unchecked. Select only the finishes for your chosen scheme. Separate varnish coats are applied over fully cured paint, never mixed into it; test paint and decal compatibility. Do not mix different brands or paint chemistries. Tamiya X/XF alternatives are alcohol-based acrylics; other bottle colors here are water-based acrylics. Tamiya TS paints are lacquer sprays. X-20A is only for the Tamiya X/XF bottles, not the water-based paints or TS sprays. Complete 16-page Italeri 4643 Cagiva Elephant 850 Paris-Dakar 1987 manual reviewed. The legend specifies Tamiya TS-49 Bright Red, separate semi-gloss black and semi-gloss white (no paint numbers printed), and the final marking page adds 4696AP Gloss White and 4695AP Gloss Black. Follow the individual component callouts; flat, semi-gloss and gloss black/white are different finishes. Racing number 100 and alternate sponsor decals follow the final diagram. The printed FS 30111 beside 4765AP conflicts with Italeri's current chart (Flat Light Gray FS 36495); the guide follows the printed paint code/name and records the conflict. No paint mixtures are specified. The manufacturer-specified body spray starts selected; all approximate details remain unchecked.
