Each Prerelease Pack reflects its college’s unique identity, featuring a themed seeded booster and a Spindown™ life counter to represent your chosen school.

College selection will be available based on registration order, so sign up early and claim the house that calls to you.

Your First Chance to Play the New Set

Prerelease weekend is your first opportunity to open packs from the newest Magic: The Gathering release and build a sealed deck with what you find. Prerelease Packs include everything you need to jump right into casual, structured play against friends and fellow Magic fans.

• Event Format: Sealed Deck, 3 Rounds, Best-of-Three

• Pairing Style: Swiss, 50-minute timed matches

• Entry Fee: $40 per player, includes 1 Prerelease Pack, a participation pack, a shot at Plinko for Promos, and eligibility for prizing.

• Ages: 13+ on Friday Night and ALL AGES welcome for 2-Headed Giant on Saturday (kids must come with a grown-up to participate)

• 6 Play Boosters (14 cards per pack)

• 1 Foil Promo (Rare or Mythic Rare)

Before you play…

There are a few things you need to prepare beforehand:

• Our community is super friendly to newer players, but this is not a learn-to-play event. Please complete the excellent, free tutorial on Magic Arena to learn the basics so you can hit the ground running!
• The Wizards Companion App (or the email address of your Wizards account). Play Arena? Great! Just use the email you signed up with!
• Your event ticket. We recommend buying in advance; we have limited space and pre-registering guarantees your seat. Can't make it? You can get a refund in store credit.

Cancellations/No-Shows

• Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before the event begins. If you are late you risk forfeiting your spot to waitlisted participants.
• If after purchasing a ticket you can no longer make the event, please cancel your ticket so that we can bring someone in off the waitlist!
• Cancelled / no-show tickets will be refunded in store credit only via digital gift card minus processing fees, and forfeit all promos and prizes.

At-Home Prerelease Available

Can’t make it to an in-store event? You can still get in on the fun from home. From April 17 through 23 (while supplies last):
