Friday Night Magic: Pauper Showdown

Pauper Showdown is our weekly Friday Night Magic event focused on Pauper play. We’ll run 3 rounds each week, giving players a consistent place to practice, tune decks, and enjoy organized play with the LionHeart Community.

Newer Pauper players are welcome. Our goal is to create a friendly, supportive environment where players can learn the format, improve their gameplay, and have fun at the table.

Build decks using cards that are readily available! In this Magic format, all cards must have been released at common rarity in a Magic set or product. Common promo cards are only legal if the card meets that qualification.

If a common version of a particular card was ever released in a Magic: The Gathering paper product or Magic: The Gathering Online, any version of that card is legal in this format. This includes land cards that were printed with both a common set symbol and the L rarity code.

Minimum of 60 cards in the main deck (There is no maximum size for main decks)
Up to 15 cards in your sideboard, if used
No more than four of any individual card in the main deck and sideboard combined (with the exception of basic lands)

Please bring a Pauper legal 60-card deck with a 15-card sideboard.

Each participant gets a turn at Plinko for Promos.

Before you play…

There are a few things you need to prepare beforehand:

Our community is super friendly to newer players, but this is not a learn-to-play event. Please complete the excellent, free tutorial on Magic Arena to learn the basics so you can hit the ground running!
The Wizards Companion App (or the email address of your Wizards account). Play Arena? Great! Just use the email you signed up with!
Your event ticket. We recommend buying in advance; we have limited space and pre-registering guarantees your seat. Can't make it? You can get a refund in store credit.

Cancellations/No-Shows

Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before the event begins. If you are late you risk forfeiting your spot to waitlisted participants.
If after purchasing a ticket you can no longer make the event, please cancel your ticket so that we can bring someone in off the waitlist!
Cancelled / no-show tickets will be refunded in store credit only via digital gift card minus processing fees, and forfeit all promos and prizes.
