Gnolls are savage, hyena-like humanoids known for their brutality and hunger. Towering close to seven feet in height and hunched in posture, they are nocturnal predators who raid settlements for both loot and fresh meat. Their matted fur and crude hides carry the stench of decay, and they favor brutal cleaving weapons—axes, heavy blades, and anything suited to hacking apart their foes. Gnolls communicate in sharp yips and snarls reminiscent of hyenas, and many keep the beasts as companions.
