Oathbands earn substantial advance payments from temporary allies by taking on mercenary contracts, which they regard as simply another way to provide for their kindred. Mercenary Kin are always alert for opportunity and will seize it with the precision of a forgewrought gauntlet.
This boxed set is perfect for starting a new Leagues of Votann collection or expanding an existing army for games of Warhammer 40,000, offering a cost-effective alternative to buying the kits separately. The force is led by a Memnyr Strategist and supported by versatile Ironkin Steeljacks, capable of ranged or close-quarters combat. Hernkyn Pioneers add speed and striking power, able to secure distant objectives and disrupt enemy plans. Together, they form a balanced and efficient Mercenary Oathbound Detachment, with rules found in The Maelstrom: Lair of the Tyrant – Detachments, available separately.
The set includes 10 multipart plastic miniatures: one Memnyr Strategist, three Hernkyn Pioneers, and six Ironkin Steeljacks.
Customisation options are extensive. One Hernkyn Pioneer can include a rear gunner equipped with a HYLas rotary cannon or ion beamer, while other bikes can mount a rollbar searchlight, multiwave comms array, or pan-spectral scanner. Cosmetic options include extra stowage and 10 interchangeable heads.
Ironkin Steeljacks can be armed with heavy volkanite disintegrators for long-range devastation, or an Autoch-pattern bolter paired with either a plasma sword or concussion gauntlet for melee combat. The kit also includes parts to build up to two optional unit champions.
The set comes with a Leagues of Votann Transfer Sheet containing 555 waterslide transfers, featuring iconography for the Greater Thurian League, Trans-Hyperian Alliance, Urani-Surtr Regulates, Ymyr Conglomerate, and Kronus Hegemony, along with a selection of numbers and symbols.
The kit contains 317 plastic components, three Citadel 90mm x 52.5mm oval bases, six Citadel 40mm round bases, and one Citadel 32mm round base. Miniatures are supplied unassembled and unpainted, and assembly with Citadel Plastic Glue and painting with Citadel Colour paints is recommended.
