A Warhammer 40,000 novel
As the Imperium fights a brutal battle of attrition over the ruined hive city of Vesperus, a once-legendary pilot takes to the skies again — and the Aeronautica prepares to risk everything to claim Interceptor City.
Why read it
Two decades after the acclaimed Double Eagle, Dan Abnett returns to the Aeronautica Imperialis for a long-awaited sequel. Follow an ace dogfighter dragged out of peaceful retirement and thrust once more into the chaos of aerial war.
The story
Bree Jagdea, once a renowned ace of the skies, has long left behind the high-speed, heart-stopping battles of her youth. Now running supply missions to support the war, she believes her fighting days are over. But when the enemy unleashes a devastating bombing campaign across Vesperus, Jagdea is called back into service — assigned to the notorious Circus 66 squadron, flying deadly interception runs through the hive city’s perilous corridors.
Thrown back into a world where a single mistake means certain death, Jagdea must outfly the enemy’s best, help the Imperium seize Interceptor City, and somehow make it back to solid ground — body and mind intact.
