M4A3E8 Sherman Korean War 35359
M4A3E8 Sherman Korean War 35359
The M4 Sherman evolved during World War II from a 75 mm support tank into several better-armed forms. The M4A3 used a Ford GAA gasoline engine, and later vehicles paired a 76 mm gun and larger turret with the familiar welded hull.

The Easy Eight configuration introduced horizontal-volute spring suspension and much wider tracks, improving ride and flotation as the Sherman grew heavier. M4A3E8s reached units late in 1944 and fought through the end of the European war. This Korean War kit depicts the later configuration with T80 tracks and updated external fittings.
When war began in Korea in June 1950, refurbished Easy Eights helped rebuild U.S. armored strength. They fought opposing T-34/85s and also provided supporting fire. Some vehicles carried striking face artwork in 1951; the kit contrasts Rice’s Red Devils at the Han River with a more plainly marked 70th Heavy Tank Battalion tank from September 1950.
