An Astra Militarum Novel
Cadia. For centuries, this proud world stood as the Imperium’s shield, a bulwark against the forces of Chaos pouring from the Eye of Terror. But everything changed when Abaddon the Despoiler targeted it during his Thirteenth Black Crusade.
Read it because
The Fall of Cadia marks a pivotal moment in the Warhammer 40,000 timeline. The battle tore open the Great Rift and ushered in a grim new era, where the Imperium faced threats of unprecedented scale and ferocity.
The story
Cadia reels in the aftermath of the Thirteenth Black Crusade. The heretic forces have been driven back, the day seemingly won. Yet Lord Castellan Creed senses that this assault was only a prelude, a warning of something far more catastrophic. He is not mistaken. Out of the Eye of Terror, Abaddon the Despoiler emerges with a warhost larger and more terrible than any seen since the Horus Heresy.
Creed must unite the defenders of Cadia into a fortress capable of resisting Abaddon’s wrath. High above in orbit, the Despoiler contends with his own fragile alliances, where even his closest lieutenants teeter on the brink of betrayal.
Told on an epic scale—from the councils of high command to the blood-soaked pylon fields—this story weaves a vast tapestry of characters, from self-proclaimed demigods to the ordinary soldiers of the Imperium.
This is the story of Abaddon’s greatest conquest. This is Cadia’s last stand.
