A Death Korps novel
The 401st Regiment of Krieg is deployed to Oleris III, a plague-ravaged world of catacombs and bones, on a mission to recover a missing inquisitor. But what they uncover beneath the surface will test even their iron discipline and unbreakable resolve.
Why read it
The Death Korps of Krieg are among the Imperium’s most relentless soldiers, known for their grim determination and willingness to die without hesitation. This story delves into that mindset through the eyes of Colonel Graven — a commander who will stop at nothing to fulfil his duty, no matter the cost.
The story
Five centuries ago, the world of Oleris III was consumed by a Chaos-born plague. Now it stands silent, a planet of tombs and haunted catacombs. Into this realm of the dead marches Colonel Graven and the 401st Krieg Regiment, tasked with finding an inquisitor who vanished while pursuing forbidden truths deep below the surface.
But as the regiment ventures into the endless ossuary tunnels, strange whispers echo through the dark — and the dead begin to stir. Shadows move where no living thing should walk, and unseen forces turn brother against brother.
Tormented by ghosts of his past and the weight of his own sins, Graven must confront horrors both real and remembered. On Oleris III, even the most steadfast Death Korpsman may find that faith and resolve are not enough to survive.
