The True Metallic Metal (TMM) technique aims to depict realistic metallic surfaces using metallic paints — unlike Non-Metallic Metal (NMM), which mimics metal through flat tones.

TMM achieves natural reflections and visual depth while preserving the genuine texture and richness of metal. To master this technique, painters apply the same principles of light and shadow used in volume modeling — blending gradients, transitions, and contrasts for lifelike effects.
