About the True Metallic Metal (TMM) Technique
The True Metallic Metal (TMM) technique recreates authentic metallic surfaces using real metallic paints, rather than mimicking the effect with flat tones like in Non-Metallic Metal (NMM).
TMM achieves natural reflections, depth, and shine, preserving the material realism of metal while reducing the need for heavy stylization. To master the effect, painters apply classic principles of light and shadow—gradients, transitions, and contrasts—bringing lifelike volume and brilliance to their miniatures.
The True Metallic Metal Range
Vallejo’s TMM range delivers control, consistency, and striking metallic results through simple, effective application. The collection spans 20 chromatic families, each containing four complementary tones:

BASE: Main metallic tone with ultra-fine particles for smooth coverage and scale-appropriate shine.
