Construction and optional painting

Painting is optional. The original recommends water-based paint and warns against painting ABS. The chain and its two connectors are POM; follow their assembly instructions and preserve moving joints.

The kit supplies color stickers and dry-transfer Gundam decals. Cut and rub the dry transfers through their backing with a blunt tool, following the original directions. These use a rub-down process.

Plastic nippers, tweezers and scissors are shown in the original. Optional panel lining is demonstrated with a water-based Gundam Marker without an exact color or code.

All fifteen recipes are retained, including five for Loran Cehack and four for the cow.

Materials in the parts list: PS; ABS; POM chain and connectors.

Rubbing tool for the supplied dry-transfer Gundam decals: Use the original rub-down application method for these decals. A waterslide decal solution is not selected for this supplied dry-transfer sheet. Reference only; no purchase option is selected.

The original recommends water-based paint and gives named ingredients without numerical H/C product codes. The water-based AK 3GEN store products below are optional approximate candidates, not manufacturer-specified paints or physically verified matches.

Complete original painting recipes

15 printed roles use 17 distinct named ingredients. 8 roles contain mixtures; 0 use separate paint layers. Original proportions describe the source paints. Ratios for these substitute pigments are unvalidated starting points: test and adjust a small dried sample. Unquantified additions remain unquantified. Keep undercoats and topcoats separate and let each layer dry.

1. White. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic White AK11001. AK11001 has a matching opaque color-family sample in the manufacturer chart and current product photos. It is an approximate candidate; source formulation, pigment strength and dried appearance remain untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
2. Navy Blue. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Dark Blue AK11181. Dark Blue has a dark navy-blue chart sample. It is a hue-family approximation, distinct from the near-black Midnight Blue candidate. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
3. Blue. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Deep Blue AK11182. Deep Blue supplies an opaque blue candidate, with untested depth and pigment strength. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
4. Indy Blue. No independently supported water-based Indy Blue hue/formulation is established. A similarly named blue or inferred H/C code is not used.
5. Cobalt Blue. AK11201 Cobalt Blue is explicitly in the metallic range. The source ordinary Cobalt Blue does not establish a metallic effect, so that candidate is rejected.
6. Red. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Matt Red AK11092. Matt Red supplies an opaque red candidate; matte describes the candidate, not a proven source finish. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
7. Brown. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Deep Brown AK11102. Deep Brown supplies a generic brown approximation, kept distinct from Pale Brown, Mahogany and Wood Brown. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
