Original painting recipes, materials and builder choices
Construction and optional painting
The God Gundam includes the Core Lander, beam-saber parts, alternate hands and three PET halo rings. Trim the marked undergates carefully and check the arm and leg joints as you build. The parts list identifies PS plastic and an ABS/PP joint runner; Bandai advises against painting ABS parts.
Apply the supplied Realistic Decal stickers in the marked sequence, including the chest stickers before the surrounding parts close over them. Nippers are needed to remove parts; tweezers help with the small stickers. Optional paint recipes include the metallic green chest and metallic orange God Finger finish. Action Base 2 or 5 is sold separately.
Materials in the parts list: PS runners A, C, D, E1, E2, F1, F2, G1, G2 and SB-16; ABS/PP B joint runner; PET halo effects.
In the original color chart, English Red madder is paired with Japanese モンザレッド (Monza Red). Both printed names are retained; this does not establish a modern numerical paint code or a tested substitute.
The manual identifies its finished example as assembled without a full repaint, with panel lining and topcoat applied. Those finishing treatments are optional; no named topcoat product is specified.
The original recommends water-based paint and gives named ingredients without numerical H/C product codes. The water-based AK 3GEN store products below are optional approximate candidates, not manufacturer-specified paints or physically verified matches.
Complete original painting recipes
8 printed roles use 18 distinct named ingredients. 8 roles contain mixtures; 0 use separate paint layers. Original proportions describe the source paints. Ratios for these substitute pigments are unvalidated starting points: test and adjust a small dried sample. Unquantified additions remain unquantified. Keep undercoats and topcoats separate and let each layer dry.

Named ingredients and optional store candidates
15 mapped purchase cards and 3 disabled ingredient references cover all 18 named ingredients. Mapped cards represent 15 unique paint variants. Source-role counts are not purchase quantities. Each selected variant is added once, even if chosen for more than one source ingredient.
- White. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic White AK11001. White is a named opaque water-based candidate. Exact source formulation and dried appearance are untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Gray. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Neutral Grey AK11018. Neutral Grey is a generic gray approximation; it does not define the distinct named Neutral Gray source as an identical formulation. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Violet. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Deep Violet AK11072. Violet is a named opaque water-based candidate. Exact source formulation and dried appearance are untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- IJN Gray (1). The numbered IJN Gray (1) source distinction does not establish an AK J3/amber-gray standard. No candidate is chosen.
- Tan. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Tan Earth AK11121. Tan Earth supplies a tan-brown approximation. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Cobalt Blue. AK11201 Cobalt Blue is explicitly in the metallic range. The source ordinary Cobalt Blue does not establish a metallic effect, so that candidate is rejected.
- Mahogany. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Mahogany Brown AK11106. Mahogany Brown supplies a named reddish wood-brown approximation. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Black. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Black AK11029. Black is a named opaque water-based candidate. Exact source formulation and dried appearance are untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Khaki. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic British Khaki AK11127. British Khaki supplies a khaki-brown hue approximation. The source does not specify a British uniform standard. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Red Madder. The source gives a named Red Madder ingredient without a numeric product code; some originals pair the English with Japanese Monza Red. No matching formulation is established.
- Red. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Matt Red AK11092. Matt Red supplies an opaque red candidate; matte describes the candidate, not a proven source finish. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Orange Yellow. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Golden Yellow AK11041. Golden Yellow supplies a warm yellow-orange approximation, distinct from Orange and Yellow. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
- Yellow. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Yellow AK11044. Yellow is a named opaque water-based candidate. Exact source formulation and dried appearance are untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.

Optional supplies are recommendations for the tasks described above, not manufacturer-required purchases. The AK 3GEN thinner applies only to the AK 3GEN candidates. Do not paint materials the original warns against painting. Digital color squares are browsing aids; they do not prove dried color, pigment strength, sheen, metallic reflection, transparency or a successful mixture.
