12 original source colors are preserved below. Store candidates identify the chosen paint family; colors without a suitable product remain as source references.

Exact booklet, options and decals

• The original 85-4493 booklet is document 14493-0389 V01.01, copyright 2019. All eight numbered printed pages, the full parts inventory and assembly steps 1–16 are present. The retailer-hosted PDF repeats the imposed two-page spreads; these repetitions do not create additional instruction pages.
• Retain the optional cab top window 45, camper top window 91 and porthole 46. Step 8 offers two front-pan choices for part 29. Clear-parts glue is an optional separate supply for glazing.
• The two decal treatments appear in steps 15–16. Align the graphics across cab and bed; the step 15 front decal wraps around the front fender. Cut out the license plates and attach them with white glue; do not dip these plates in water.
• The booklet permits optional trim colors matched to box photographs but does not give extra named paints. It also suggests an optional clear coat after at least 48 hours for decal drying, without choosing a finish, chemistry or product. No clear-coat product is added as a required paint.
• No pilot/crew figures and no paint mixtures are specified. Chrome-plated parts are marked with a star; those stars are not a new chrome-paint requirement.

Literal source colors and store candidates

• The original gives 12 numeric Revell references but does not specify paint chemistry. Preserve its literal names: 99 Aluminum, 50 Blue and 91 Steel. Current Revell product names can differ; the guide does not silently rename the original legend.
• Gloss Yellow 12 is the body/cab/bed/hood/camper-roof color; Gloss Orange 30 covers the marked intake, air cleaner and cylinder-head areas; Tan 314 is the interior tub. The gloss-white, yellow, orange and blue candidates have the supported broad hue and gloss finish but remain approximate. Tan 314 stays a disabled source reference because its satin-finish mapping is unresolved.
• All purchase candidates are approximate and start unchecked. The 91 Steel to AK11208 Dark Aluminium comparison remains a tentative darker metallic option requiring a dried test. The named source 90 Silver and 99 Aluminum remain separate requirements and separate candidates.
• Transparent Red 731 and Turn Signal Amber 730 are retained for the lamps. The Tamiya clear-red/clear-orange candidates are functional transparent alternatives, not proven identical hues. Film thickness, clear-plastic tint and lighting affect the result.
• Use X-20A only with Tamiya X/XF acrylic candidates, AK 3GEN thinner only with AK 3GEN paints and ATOM thinner only with the ATOM satin-black candidate. Tools, cement, brushes, masking, clear-parts glue, decal solution and thinner are optional and unchecked. White glue for the paper plates remains a source supply note, without an invented exact brand.

Check its dried hue, sheen and any metallic effect against the original before painting. Paint family: AK 3rd Generation water-based acrylic. Finish/effect: Matt.

9. I — Revell 314 Tan. Interior tub, printed page 5. The original says Tan; current Revell 314 is silk Beige. A close candidate lacks sufficient primary confirmation of the satin finish.
10. J — Revell 731 Transparent Red. Rear lamps, printed page 6. Candidate: X-27 Clear Red 10 ML (MINI). Approximate transparent lamp-color option. Its hue is not verified as identical; test film thickness and the underlying clear plastic. Paint family: Tamiya X/XF acrylic (water-soluble acrylic resin with organic solvent/water carrier).
