13 original source colors are preserved below. Store candidates identify the chosen paint family; colors without a suitable product remain as source references.

Exact kit and marking options

• These instructions describe the F-89C, with tip tanks. The two marking options are F-89C 51-5843 of the Montana Air National Guard, 186th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 120th Fighter Group, Great Falls, May 1958; and F-89C 51-746 of the 84th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, Hamilton Air Force Base, California, 1952.
• Montana markings use G / 54 Midnight blue gloss on the tip tanks and fin areas; the second option uses I / 08 Black matt there. Yellow stripes and emblems are decals; no yellow paint has been added.
• The original instruction cover says 50th Anniversary while the 05650 box and decal sheet identify the 75th Anniversary release. Instruction document 05650-0379 and decal 05650-0240C bind this package. Some promotional text describes an F-89D; follow the actual F-89C drawings.
• The set supplies four pots: 08, 54, 90 and 91. They are only part of the complete 13-color A–M legend. The 54 pot says Night blue, gloss while the booklet says Midnight blue gloss.

Assembly, optional parts and complete palette

• All 16 numbered instruction pages are included in the original gallery. Assembly runs through steps 1–29 and marking plans through steps 30–33. All 13 legend colors remain listed, including 57 Grey matt and 301 White silk matt whose exact small detail placements are difficult to localize in the gallery.
• Both pilot figures and associated parts are shaded Parts not used in the parts map. The assembly sequence does not install or paint them. No flesh, uniform or flight-suit colors are added from promotional figures.
• Open/closed canopy, undercarriage and detail choices follow the original symbols. Rocket step 20 calls for F / 371 Light grey silk matt and M / 67 Greenish grey matt. These are retained even if the rockets are omitted.
• The original specifies no paint mixture or mixing ratio. Use the complete diagrams for each small paint flag and your chosen marking option.

Store candidates and supplies

• No exact Revell-family paint product is selected. Each mapped card preserves its original Revell code and name before the approximate store candidate. Four silk-matt colors remain as disabled references. All candidate purchases start unchecked.
• The numerical Revell references are not a declaration of paint chemistry. Revell Aqua Color manufacturer swatches help compare the same numeric colors; the substitute families are stated separately. Illustrated swatches are not measured dried-paint standards. Metallic reflection, clear finishes and final sheen require a test piece.
• The Tamiya XF-16 candidate is flat metallic aluminium; use X-20A only for Tamiya X/XF acrylics. Use AK 3GEN thinner only for the AK 3GEN candidates. Pro Acryl Blue Black is a water-based matt acrylic. The darker AK11208 candidate for source 91 is a tentative metallic option and needs particular shade review.
• Tools, extra cement, brushes, masking, clear-parts glue, decal solution and thinner are optional purchases. Check the supplied set contents before buying duplicates. No primer, clear coat or additional pilot color is added as a kit requirement.
