Construction and optional painting

The original Sumi-ire Pen SHARP is a 0.3 mm mechanical pencil, separate from the liquid marker and brush-pen choices. No current store product is chosen for this optional finishing tool.

Assemble the legs, waist, body, arms and head, then add the Beam Magnum, beam sabers and shield. The included Double Separator helps release the paired parts and disassemble the hands. Nippers are recommended for a cleaner finish even though the wedge gates allow hand removal.

The manual includes a complete finishing tutorial and water-slide decal placement guide. Optional panel lining choices are the GSI Creos Gundam Marker Sumi-ire Pen SHARP, Fine-Point Gundam Markers in Black, Brown and Gray, and Sumi-ire Brush Pens in Black and Gray. It suggests black or gray on white parts and brown or gray on colored parts; these tools are optional.

Keep the four optional paint recipes, including Field Gray (2), whose Japanese name is Olive Gray. Bandai recommends water-based paint and advises against painting ABS parts.

Materials in the parts list: PS parts; ABS H, I, J and other identified frame parts; PE PC-200A polycaps.

Field Gray (2) (English) is paired with Japanese Olive Gray, which has no printed (2) suffix; retain the English numbered distinction.

The original recommends water-based paint and gives named ingredients without numerical H/C product codes. The water-based AK 3GEN store products below are optional approximate candidates, not manufacturer-specified paints or physically verified matches.

Complete original painting recipes

4 printed roles use 9 distinct named ingredients. 4 roles contain mixtures; 0 use separate paint layers. Original proportions describe the source paints. Ratios for these substitute pigments are unvalidated starting points: test and adjust a small dried sample. Unquantified additions remain unquantified. Keep undercoats and topcoats separate and let each layer dry.

1. Body white: White 100% + Navy Blue small dose.
2. Head yellow: Yellow 45% + White 35% + Orange 20%.
3. Body dark blue: Blue 60% + Cobalt Blue 30% + Black 10%. Candidate recipe incomplete: Cobalt Blue has no chosen store match.
