Construction and optional painting

Build the Rise of Skywalker X-Wing with its cockpit pilot and R6-D8 astromech, then choose the canopy and landing-gear arrangement and open or closed wings. The SWB-15 display base is included. Choose either the matching stickers or water-slide decals and follow the complete marking plan, including the droid details.

Bandai recommends water-based paint. The nine optional recipes include three pilot colors; the pilot suit keeps its small Flat Base addition. The white-body recipe pairs English Off White with Japanese Grand Prix White, and English IJN Gray with Japanese Light Gray (1). The pilot’s Pale Brown is Japanese Light Brown. No separate droid paint recipe is printed.

Off White (English) / Grand Prix White (Japanese).

IJN Gray (English) / 明灰白色(1), Light Gray (1) or Light Gray White (1) (Japanese). Keep (1) distinct from unnumbered Light Gray and (2).

Pale Brown (English) / 薄茶色, Light Brown (Japanese).

Russet (English) / Azuki color (Japanese).

Tan (English) / Light Brown (Tan), ライトブラウン（タン） (Japanese). Keep it distinct from the pilot-face Light Brown, 薄茶色.

The original recommends water-based paint and gives named ingredients without numerical H/C product codes. The water-based AK 3GEN store products below are optional approximate candidates, not manufacturer-specified paints or physically verified matches.

9 printed roles use 14 distinct named ingredients. 6 roles contain mixtures; 0 use separate paint layers. Original proportions describe the source paints. Ratios for these substitute pigments are unvalidated starting points: test and adjust a small dried sample. Unquantified additions remain unquantified. Keep undercoats and topcoats separate and let each layer dry.

12. Russet. The printed Russet ingredient remains distinct from Red brown and Cocoa brown. A matching shade is not established.
13. Flat Base. Original Flat Base is a flattening additive mixed into paint, not a matte color or varnish. No supported equivalent flattening additive with demonstrated mixing behavior is established in the selected family; no finish coat or thinner is substituted.
14. Pale Brown. No defensible Pale Brown match is chosen; warm orange-brown paint is not assumed equivalent.

Optional supplies are recommendations for the tasks described above, not manufacturer-required purchases. The AK 3GEN thinner applies only to the AK 3GEN candidates. Do not paint materials the original warns against painting. Digital color squares are browsing aids; they do not prove dried color, pigment strength, sheen, metallic reflection, transparency or a successful mixture.
