About this paint guide

Based on the original Bandai August 2015 GSC11 instruction set, matched to this kit using its printed identifiers and product barcode. The source photographs show a painted model. The reference link opens the instruction scans hosted by Dalong.

8 color recipes, including 5 mixtures, summarize the finish shown in the original instructions.

Bandai recommends water-based paint. These instructions name colors without numerical paint codes or a specified paint brand or range. Any suggested shop paint is an approximation to review, rather than a manufacturer-specified coded match.

Mixing and coverage

Use the percentages as color-mixing proportions. Where the source adds a small amount or a very small amount, it gives no numerical quantity for that addition. Keep that addition separate from the stated percentages.

The instructions give color recipes and part locations, but no primer, clear-coat, thinning, coat-count, weathering or paint-layering schedule.

This is the complete printed recipe list. Decorative stickers and assembly colors do not create extra paint recipes, and the instructions do not give a separate recipe for every visible surface.

Materials and construction

The three runners, A, B and C, are marked PS (polystyrene), including the wave-effect runner.

The assembly diagrams show the molded parts fitting together and do not specify a glue step. Follow the kit instructions for fit and sticker placement.

Stickers and markings

The kit supplies color stickers for the small flags and gun ports, plus a separate marking sheet for the three-skull sail emblem and optional flag emblems. Follow the sticker placement diagrams for these details.

Display choices

The lower hull can be removed for a waterline display using the included one-piece wave effect. The instructions also show mounting the ship on an Action Base 2, sold separately. They allow the wave effect to remain fitted when the lower hull is reattached for base display.

Figures

The illustrated Blackbeard crew is not included. There is no figure-painting recipe.

The original prints no numerical paint codes and names no commercial paint family. It recommends water-based paint. The store products below are approximate candidates, not manufacturer-specified paints or physically verified matches.
