Construction and optional painting

Painting is optional. The Chobham armor is built separately and fitted over the Gundam; preserve its removable fit. Use the supplied stickers and marking stickers at the original indicated locations.

Seven recipes include the separate Chobham armor color and the printed historical alternatives listed below.

Materials in the parts list: PS; PE.

The original recommends water-based paint and prints legacy Gundam Color alternatives for some complete recipes. Preserve those named and numbered alternatives as shown below. The base recipe ingredients have no printed H/C product numbers; no modern paint-code equivalence is assumed.

Complete original painting recipes

7 printed roles use 9 distinct named ingredients. 7 roles contain mixtures; 0 use separate paint layers. Original proportions describe the source paints. Ratios for these substitute pigments are unvalidated starting points: test and adjust a small dried sample. Unquantified additions remain unquantified. Keep undercoats and topcoats separate and let each layer dry.

1. 本体 / Main body: White 100% + Gray small amount; OR original Gundam Color White 13.
2. 胸部、腰部等 / Chest, waist etc.: Cobalt Blue 60% + Indy Blue 30% + White 10%; OR original Gundam Color Blue 11. Candidate recipe incomplete: Cobalt Blue, Indy Blue has no chosen store match.
3. ビーム・ライフル / Beam Rifle: Gray 70% + Black 20% + White 10%.
4. 内部、関節等 / Interior, joints etc.: Indy Blue 35% + Midnight Blue 35% + Red 15% + White 15%. Candidate recipe incomplete: Indy Blue has no chosen store match.
5. チョバム・アーマー / Chobham armor: Gray 100% + White small amount; OR original Gundam Color Gray 23.
6. コクピットハッチ等 / Cockpit hatch etc.: Red 90% + Yellow 10%.
7. 胸部インテーク等 / Chest intake etc.: Orange Yellow 80% + Yellow 20%.

Named ingredients and optional store candidates

7 mapped purchase cards and 2 disabled ingredient references cover all 9 named ingredients. Mapped cards represent 7 unique paint variants. Source-role counts are not purchase quantities. Each selected variant is added once, even if chosen for more than one source ingredient.

1. White. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic White AK11001. AK11001 has a matching opaque color-family sample in the manufacturer chart and current product photos. It is an approximate candidate; source formulation, pigment strength and dried appearance remain untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
2. Gray. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Neutral Grey AK11018. Neutral Grey is a generic gray approximation; it does not define the distinct named Neutral Gray source as an identical formulation. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
3. Cobalt Blue. AK11201 Cobalt Blue is explicitly in the metallic range. The source ordinary Cobalt Blue does not establish a metallic effect, so that candidate is rejected.
4. Indy Blue. No independently supported water-based Indy Blue hue/formulation is established. A similarly named blue or inferred H/C code is not used.
5. Black. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Black AK11029. AK11029 has a matching opaque color-family sample in the manufacturer chart and current product photos. It is an approximate candidate; source formulation, pigment strength and dried appearance remain untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
6. Midnight Blue. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Strong Dark Blue AK11187. Strong Dark Blue has a very dark, near-black blue chart sample. It is an approximation to the Midnight Blue hue, distinct from Navy Blue; no manufacturer crosswalk is claimed. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
7. Red. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Matt Red AK11092. Matt Red supplies an opaque red candidate; matte describes the candidate, not a proven source finish. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
8. Yellow. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Yellow AK11044. AK11044 has a matching opaque color-family sample in the manufacturer chart and current product photos. It is an approximate candidate; source formulation, pigment strength and dried appearance remain untested. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.
9. Orange Yellow. Approximate candidate: 3G Acrylic Golden Yellow AK11041. Golden Yellow supplies a warm yellow-orange approximation, distinct from Orange and Yellow. Family: AK 3rd Generation. Finish/effect: matte.

Printed legacy alternatives

These 3 references are separate from the ingredient count and are not additional paint requirements.

• Gundam Color White 13. Original printed alternative for 本体 / Main body. It replaces that complete recipe; it is not an extra mixture ingredient. No current equivalent is established.
• Gundam Color Blue 11. Original printed alternative for 胸部、腰部等 / Chest, waist etc.. It replaces that complete recipe; it is not an extra mixture ingredient. No current equivalent is established.
• Gundam Color Gray 23. Original printed alternative for チョバム・アーマー / Chobham armor. It replaces that complete recipe; it is not an extra mixture ingredient. No current equivalent is established.

Optional supplies are recommendations for the tasks described above, not manufacturer-required purchases. The AK 3GEN thinner applies only to the AK 3GEN candidates. Do not paint materials the original warns against painting. Digital color squares are browsing aids; they do not prove dried color, pigment strength, sheen, metallic reflection, transparency or a successful mixture.
