Kutna Hora: The City of Silver

Kutna Hora: The City of Silver
Description
Mine. Build. Prosper. Shape one of medieval Europe’s most influential cities.
Step into the role of a powerful guild leader during the 14th-century silver boom and take part in the rise of Kutná Hora—a historic Czech city that grew from a humble monastic discovery to a thriving economic powerhouse in Central Europe.
Kutná Hora is a historical city-building euro game for 2–4 players, driven by an evolving supply-and-demand economic system. Every decision you make—whether extracting silver, constructing buildings, or acquiring land—ripples through the shared economy, influencing prices, profits, and opportunities for everyone at the table.
Each round, players choose from a hand of double-sided action cards to execute strategic plans such as:
-
Mining and smelting valuable silver
-
Purchasing plots and erecting buildings for their guilds
-
Acquiring permits and advancing infrastructure
-
Contributing to the construction of St. Barbara’s Cathedral, a symbol of collective progress
With asymmetrical guild roles, each player shapes the city differently. Your unique abilities—and how you use them—can shift market values and reshape the urban landscape. Success lies not only in personal gain but in knowing when to align with the city's broader growth.
Balance ambition with cooperation. In Kutná Hora, prosperity is shared—but victory is personal.
