Wings & Wheels Fly-In
Old Kingsbury Aerodrome & Pioneer Flight Museum
Saturday, November 13, 2021 -- Gates Open 9am
170 Pershing Ln. Kingsbury, Texas 78638
Donation for the Museum Appreciated
One of the gems of history in Central Texas, the Pioneer Flight Museum has been the nexus of some of the finest full scale WWI vintage aircraft builds in the world. It is not every day you have occasion to stand before a Fokker Dr.1 and D.VII, let alone examples so exacting to the original specs. The photo accompanying is that of the museum’s Dr.1 in the markings of Paul Baumer of Jasta 11 (1917). At least two other WWI aircraft will be on hand: the Thomas Morse Scout and a Curtiss Jenny.
The fly-in will include vintage, experimental & antique aircraft, antique vehicles, living history displays, food trucks and other vendors (including LionHeart Hobby!).
The focus for the weekly meetings will be at the scholastic level (K-12), but all are welcome!
We will meet weekly at the Kyle Library at 4:30 for one hour, and the LionHeart Chess Federation (LHCF) will be looking to support other local scholastic chess clubs get up and running.
Want a chess club in your school? Have one but want to see it grow? Think a chess tournament right here in Hays County would be super fun?
You're in the right place!
Thank you, Kyle Library!
While LionHeart Hobby is growing into the big shoes we are working to fill in our community, our local Kyle Public Library is stepping into the gap!
They host many FREE events that are open to the community. Join our community for D&D and other RPGs, Miniature Painting, Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, wargaming, and more!

LionHeart Hobby On The Road
"ModelFiesta is the longest running annual modeling event in IPMS Region 6. The first ModelFiesta was held in Wonderland Mall, now called Crossroads Mall, in 1982 and has been held each year since that first contest. The contest has grown in size and quality since its early days and now averages over 120 vendor tables and over 500 models entered in the contest each year.
Mark ModelFiesta 40 on your calendar! Alamo Squadron is proud to announce that ModelFiesta, the International Contest of Texas, is scheduled to be held on January 8, 2022, at the New Braunfels Civic Center.
The new home for ModelFiesta, the New Braunfels Civic Center (NBCC), is just a quick 20 min drive up the I-35 corridor from San Antonio, and it is closer for those coming to the event from the north (Austin, Dallas). For modelers coming in from the East (Houston, Louisiana), I-10 is still the primary route to take, exiting in Seguin on Hwy-46 to New Braunfels. From the west and south, attendees can connect to Hwy-46 through various roads and highways and reach New Braunfels with ease.
NBCC is a relatively new structure with excellent lighting, electrical hook-ups, and a professional and helpful staff. More details will be made available on this web-site via the ModelFiesta 40 link below, so please return frequently to see what information has been added."
