Commissioned in March of 1914, USS Texas was the second of two New York-class Battleship built for the United States Navy prior to World Wars I and II. Her design was advanced at the time of the dreadnought. Texas served in Mexican waters during the Tampico Incident, and then saw various scenes of action in the Atlantic during World War II. Notably at D-Day, the captain gave the order to flood her starboard torpedo blister as her main artillery was running out of range to cover fire for Allied troops. Texas now serves as a museum ship, and is currently going through drydock repairs to get her once again seaworthy. She is the last surviving dreadnought type battleship that is seaworthy. This Trumpeter kit of the USS Texas includes photo etch, metal chain, and decals! Come on Texas!
