Commissioned in December of 1941, Yamato was one of two completed Yamato-class battleships built for the Imperial Japanese Navy. Her design was like no other battleship at the time, holding the largest guns of any battleships. The Yamato served as the flagship for Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto's combined fleet during World War II in the Pacific, until meeting her fate in 1945. This Fujimi NEXT series model kit of the Yamato depicts the ship in her 1941 armament and layout. Not yet replacing some of her 155mm guns with more Anti-Air layouts, instead appearing to focus on secondary firepower. The kit is molded in color, and overall makes a great model kit, paying homage to the Yamato.
