USS Enterprise (CV-6) is without a doubt, one of the most notorious United States Navy Carriers of World War II. Commissioned in May of 1938, she was one of three Yorktown-class Aircraft Carriers built prior to World War II. During her service in World War II, she remained in the Pacific. She was present in the Doolittle Raid, Midway, South Pacific, the Philippine Sea, and various other theatres of combat in the Pacific Campaign. She met her reasonless fate when instead of being preserved as a museum ship, she was unfortunately scrapped after the war from 1958-1960. This Academy kit provides a great representation of the USS Enterprise.
